The goalkeeper had a medical in France, with the pieces quickly falling into place in a deal that has brought the Costa Rica international to the City Ground. There were complications relating to the remainder of Navas’ contract with the French club, which had looked likely to curtail his move. But these hurdles were overcome, which has allowed the experienced stopper to become the latest big name addition at Forest.
The 28-year-old is however expected to be at Old Trafford to watch his new team-mates in action against Nottingham Forest. It means his first appearance for the club could come on Saturday when United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League. United have eight games during the month of February with games in the Carabao Cup, Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League on the horizon.
